In 1934, shortly after prohibition, Harry Watkins applied and was granted the first beer wholesale license in the state of Montana, starting a multigenerational love for the beer business. He passed along the tradition to his sons Ted and Bunts Watkins who went on to own Zip Beverage in Missoula and Watkins Distributing in Spokane, Wa. Ted’s two sons Mitch and Tony were given the opportunity to purchase a small beer distributor in Twin Falls, ID in 1988, which led to the creation of Watkins Distributing as it’s known today. Today the company is run by Mitch Watkins, two of his children, Annie Pfinsgraff and Conner Watkins and Mitch and Tony’s niece, Hannah Tagliaferro.
With strong next generation leadership, and a great team of employees, Watkins Distributing has transformed from the average beer wholesaler to a all beverage, regional distributor with best in class service and product offerings.
